Better Late Than Never?

Well, we clearly failed to deliver on even the one video per month dealio, but it has been a pretty busy time: new Coast, new job, new kid, new house being lightly remodeled, blah blah blah.

Here is a short video from a few weeks ago.  Good news is that I think I've struck on a fast and effective way to upload videos, so I promise more to come!!

Even if this is no good, please note there are some new pics up in Picasa, linked to the right.

Hush Little Baby

Chloe is 8 weeks old tomorrow, and Sophia is an amazingly affectionate and enthusiastic big sister.  Here they are together tonight.

Note: Last month Blogger Extraordinaire (and this blog's only reader) Todd challenged us to post one video per month.  I accept!  Just made it under the wire.  I'm still accepting suggestions on how to upload better quality vids via a mac.  Dropshots is super easy but once again the audio and video are out of synch.

Kyoto Slide - from March

Some video experimentation here. I'm a bit disappointed how lousy the video looks vs. original, so I tried two different compression rates to see if that made a difference.

This was two months back on our trip to Japan.

We went to Japan for a week in mid-March. Sophia was a great sport as we dragged her around sightseeing. In Kyoto, we happened across this rusty old slide just outside Gion, where most of the temples are located. She and EZ the Zebra had a good old time sliding.





This video should be higher quality, but I'm not sure it looks that way...

Sophia goes to two parks in the neighborhood. The small one is very close by, and a little further away is this one on the beach. My favorite part of this video is when she runs away at the end -- it reminds me of one of those early black and white movies that always seem to be played back slightly too fast.

Not for the faint of heart

This one marked a major milestone back in October '07 (16 months old): first use of a tissue. You probably don't want to watch this over lunch.

We swear she used to think we were funny

You know, all the parenting books say your baby grows up wicked fast (yes, our parenting books reading experience was actually just one book, on tape, read by boston kid who still says "wicked"). Well, I look at this clip taken in Nov '06 (Sophia was 5 months old), and the one I just shot and posted yesterday (Sophia is almost 20 months old), and I gotta say, I don't see it.

First Video Upload

Well, we're not smart enough to figure out how to post videos from our Mac to Sophia's Picasa Album, so we thought we'd use this blog to get a few short vids up for the far away family and friends. This first one is from this morning, and if it works, we'll post some short older clips as well. Use the comments to tell us if the movie works fine for you, or if it is too slow, too large a file, etc..
